Infinity P&V™ Set Top Communications (phone and video module)
Set-top communications for telephone and 2-way video communications is delivered using this component for the Infinity STS, set-top box. Providing a full VoIP telephone and video phone capabilities to the television this add-on module can provide a traditional phone call can be placed or received using the television to answer or dial.
For video calls, if both caller and called parties have the video enabled then by answering the inbound call-request, a video connection is automatically established. The Infinity STS must be outfitted with the audio & video components to make this feature operational. |
Infinity S&P™ Set Top Credit Card Reader (option)
The Infinity “swipe and play” option adds a credit card swipe mechanism to the set-top box allowing for immediate purchasing of online video-on-demand products without having an established account setup with the vendor.
The future of IP-TV will allow for broadband connections to deliver video content directly to the home without the involvement of cable or satellite companies. For this to work freely and reduce liability the presence of a physical credit card can maximize the consumer’s ability to purchase content without having accounts setup with every content provider. |
